Story Telling That Changes Lives
When was the last time you heard a story with a happy ending? A story with real characters, twists and turns in their lives, suffering and challenges — then the break through.
For many years my career has given me the privilege of entering the homes of dozens and dozens of kind-hearted people who were challenged by a disease or injury. Their pain was real, their quality of life diminished and their hope was all but gone.
Yet, through their struggles, they wanted to share their journeys so maybe, just maybe you or a spouse, sibling, grandparent or parent can have the confidence to seek help and hurt less. Perhaps the wisdom of Maya Angelou says it best, “There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.”
Of all the great experiences I’ve had throughout my career, sharing the stories of one patient so that another’s pain or challenges can be reduced has been life changing for me. To each person (patient) who so graciously allowed me and my camera crew into their home, and to the clients who allowed me the opportunity to tell their patient’s stories, I thank you!
I hope you will take a few minutes to really hear Artur and Urszela’s story — it’s about the love and faith of a wife to believe for a miracle when doctors were preparing her for the worst — even they were surprised.
